Congratulations California

As of 10 minutes ago the Supreme Court of California has struck down the ban on gay marriage. The ruling was by a 4-3 margin. The ruling said that the ban violated the state Constitution guaranteeing the equal rights and freedoms of the people of California.

This means that the state is now the second to allow marriage for all of its citizens. I am quite proud to have been in Massachusetts and now in California while this issue was being debated and decided. The rights of all are not a matter of race, gender or any way of delineating human existence, they are the rights of all. Everyone has the right to pursue their life as they see fit. No one is allowed to infringe on that right.
