there is a really interesting event going on this weekend. it is an energy conservation project called lights out san francisco.
the idea behind it is that as a whole we do not conserve energy despite our attempts to. by being cognizant of the idea of turning off non-essential light fixtures and energy using appliances for one hour they estimate that the city will save 15% of the usual saturday energy use.
the project is going to go national this coming march and hopefully we can all participate nationwide at this time since was we all should know conservation is the only true means to truly solving our energy crisis. with every from of alternative energy there is an aftereffect. until the day arrives that there is development of an entirely renewable non-polluting option the best course to stemming the tide of global warming is to use less at every opportunity.
